What this checks, and why
License number, a clear scope of work, materials and models, permit, deposit size against California's limit (the lesser of 10% or $1,000), payment schedule, start and finish dates, warranty, the three-day right to cancel, change orders, cleanup, and insurance. It also flags common red flags such as cash-only deals, pressure to sign today, and skipping the permit.
